Authorities also found $18,000 in cash in the vehicle Phan was leaving in after taking one of the two boxes out of the home, according to the criminal complaint.

Man Faces Criminal Sexual Conduct Charges After Woodbury Incident

A St. Paul man was recently charged with one count of third-degree criminal sexual conduct following an early April incident at a Woodbury hotel.

Marcus Houston Jones, 23, was also charged with one count of misdemeanor assault and one count of interfering with a 911 call. If convicted on all charges, he faces up to 16 years in prison and $34,000 in fines.

Woodbury police were called to the Red Roof Inn on April 4 on a report of an alleged sexual assault. Outside the hotel, officers found a woman who told them that she saw Jones trying to force her friend to have sex with him, according to the criminal complaint. Police found the woman shaking and crying in a hotel room, according to the complaint.

At the hotel, police found Jones, who said he went into the shower with the alleged victim, his girlfriend, and she screamed because the water was too hot, according to the complaint. He denied having sex with her.

A witness—who was staying with Jones and the woman—told police she repeatedly heard her friend screaming for Jones to stop and heard Jones slap and punch her, according to the complaint.

After taking the witness' statement, police arrested Jones, who was booked at the Washington County Jail.
