Find out what amazing things Lindbergh School District students have been up to.

Lindbergh Accomplishments: Summer Tutors, Awards and Honors

A+ Summer Tutors Give Back to Their District

The summer of 2012 was another successful year for A+ tutors and the students who they assisted. Lindbergh High School students assisted elementary age children in the Summer Enrichment and Lindbergh Early Childhood Education programs.

“These stellar A+ tutors set the example for all of our A+ tutors and also for the young children who one day may be A+ tutors years down the road,” said Dr. Jim Beatty, summer A+ coordinator.

The following A+ tutors received recognition from their supervisors for showing leadership, excellent attendance, patience and caring:

Lindbergh Summer Enrichment: Grant Lubsch, Derek Debosek, Ben Rupp, and Nick O’Hanlon

Lindbergh ECE: Stephanie Lake, Tori Hancock, Sarah Meine and Grant Meine

The A+ Program allows students who meet the requirements to attend any state community college, vocational school or technical school free of cost.  Students must complete 50 hours of tutoring, in addition to meeting attendance, citizenship and academic requirements.

LHS Students Selected for Jazz St. Louis All Stars

Lindbergh High school seniors Kevin Baudrexl and Matt Leininger were recently selected as two of the newest members of the Jazz St. Louis All-Stars, which is composed of the top students in the Jazz St. Louis JazzU program.  JazzU is a competitive program that places 50 talented middle and high school musicians in small jazz combos that meet weekly from September through May. It is sponsored by the Monsanto Fund, Ameren Missouri and THF Realty. Kevin plays bass and Matt tenor sax.

Yanker Named Outstanding Student Leader

Lindbergh High School senior Jordan Yanker has been named a 2012 Outstanding Student Leader by the Saint Louis County Department of Human Services. The Outstanding Student Leadership Program provides training and recognition to youth in Saint Louis County, assisting youth with development of the skills they need to be effective leaders and citizens. One senior from each county high school is nominated annually by his or her principal for participation in a leadership conference and recognition ceremony.
