Richmond Heights Man Faces Third Stealing Charge in Three Years

A Richmond Heights man accused of shoplifting at the Bridgeton Walmart was charged with having three stealing offenses within three years.

Kevin M. Hutchason, 23, of the 1200 block of Moorlands Drive in Richmond Heights, was charged Monday with stealing as a third offense.

Bridgeton Police said security personnel saw Hutchason select a Body Glove mobile phone case from a display at 3:02 p.m. Feb. 10. He removed the phone case from its package and put it in his pants pocket, security personnel told police.

He then left the store without paying, according to police. He was stopped outside the store and the phone case was recovered, officers said.

Hutchason was being held in St. Louis County jail Wednesday. Bail was set at $15,000, cash only.

The charge is Hutchason’s third stealing offense within three years.

Hutchason pleaded guilty May 13, 2011 to stealing on Nov. 2, 2010; and he pleaded guilty Jan. 12, 2011 to two counts of stealing on Nov. 3, 2010.
