Fire Protection District spokesman Jerry McQueen tells Patch emergency crews responded to the Villa Dorado condominium complex just before 7 p.m. Tuesday. Firefighters entered through the front door and found the person, the only person living in the unit, unconcious on the floor.

As a matter of protocol, County Arson investigators were called to the scene, McQueen said. He said county investigators will make the determination of what may have caused the fire, and hope to be able to interview the condominium resident at the hospital.

Seven other units had to be evacuated at the time, but have since been allowed to return after authorities deemed there was no structural damage to those residences.
