Eureka-Wildwood Patch invited small business owners to submit information about their business for an irregular "small business spotlight" feature. Here's what was submitted from Bob Moore, who, with his wife, has just opened a new business in Eureka, Hometown Books, 107 E. Fifth Street, phone 636-587-9000.

When was the business founded? September 2013

How did the business come to be?  Bob & Vicky Moore, owner of Earthbound Recycling, have been going to a lot of estate sales, garage sales, etc. and have been collecting books for several months in order to open a bookstore.

Why did you choose the area you did? The area does not have many choices for buying used books. Our location on Fifth Street has a high traffic count.

What does your business offer? We have 37 categories of books available such as History, Science fiction, Romance novels, Religion, Classics, Westerns, Self Help and Children.

What's something interesting about your business customers might not know? We sell books by the pound. Paperbacks sell for $4.95/lb, with hardbacks selling for less per pound at $3.50/lb. this makes books more equal in price no mater how old they are or how heavy.

What's your most popular product or service? Books!

Submit information about your small business here.
