Man Stalked His Ex-Girlfriend, Threatened Her Father, Police Say

A man harassed a woman in the O’Fallon area by repeatedly calling her, hiding in bushes waiting for her and threatening her family members, according to a St. Charles County Sheriff’s Department report.

James Roberson, 23, of the 4300 block of Castle Rock Court in St. Charles County, was charged Aug. 5 with aggravated stalking.

A St. Charles County Sheriff’s investigator said Roberson ignores a protection order against him that prohibits him from contacting his ex-girlfriend.

A sheriff's department report said Roberson has been stalking the woman between April 1 and July 31

A court document states that Roberson hid in bushes outside the woman’s home in the 1500 block of Norwood Hills Drive near O'Fallon. When she appeared outside, he ran from the bushes yelling that he needs to talk to her. Her father said Roberson ran off when he came outside.

A deputy reported that Roberson appears at the residence uninvited despite the restraining order and that his ex-girlfriend has told him she does not want to see him. The deputy said Roberson has called the woman, her family and friends hundreds of times in attempt to talk to her.

Roberson called the woman’s father after she shut her cell phone off. During the conversation, he became agitated and threatened him, the deputy reported.

Bond was set at $50,000, cash only for Roberson, and he is to have no contact with the victim.
