Daylight Saving Time Ends Sunday

Don't forget to turn back your clock.

Are you ready for it?

We'll get an extra hour of sleep overnight Saturday. At 2 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 6, Daylight Saving Time ends.

Remember to turn back the clock an hour before you go to sleep so you make your appointments on Sunday.

Police and firefighters recommend you check your clocks, smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors and replace the batteries.

Be sure to turn back your clock an hour as you go to bed Saturday night (or early Sunday morning, if you're out late) so you wake up at the correct time on Sunday.

Federal law standardized daylight savings time for the first time in 1918, according to National Geographic.

Although Daylight Saving Time is loved by many who look forward to the extra hour of evening daylight, some would like to return to standard time.

Daylight Saving Time will return on the second Sunday in March, March 11, 2012.
