St. Peters Woman Seriously Injured in Fatal Crash on Highway 364

A St. Charles man was arrested on Tuesday on charges of drunken driving following a massive accident Tuesday on Highway 364 that left one man dead and injured three.

John Recklein, 22, of St. Charles,  one of the drivers involved in Tuesday's massive accident, was arrested on Wednesday. Authorities charged John Recklein of St. Charles for "voluntary manslaughter, second-degree felony assault and misdemeanor driving while intoxicated," STLToday reports. Jared T. Nevenner, 23, of Caseyville, died in the crash.

According to the accident report, John Recklein was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Venture with three passengers. John Recklein was seriously injured in the crash, as was Natasha Galenski, 17, of St. Peters. Twenty-year-old Nicholas Recklein of St. Charles had minor injuries. All three were taken to Mercy Hospital St. Louis in Creve Coeur. Nevenner was pronounced dead at the scene.

Nevenner was killed at about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday when John Recklein's vehicle hit the back of Holloway's on westbound Highway 364. Recklein's vehicle overturned several times and he was ejected from the vechile. Patrol reports show Recklein was arrested about an hour later.

St. Peters man Samuel Holloway, 33, the driver of the other car involved in the crash, was not injured.
