Several residents know that Crestwood Animal Control operates its own shelter and facilitates adoptions with domestic pets, but did you know they answer a variety of other animal-related calls?

Animal Control Officer Nancy Hunt has dealt with raccoons at the public pool, a stalking duck, even a loose squirrel inside the UPS store, according to one shelter volunteer.

On Tuesday Hunt was called to a Crestwood resident's home where a baby fox needed to be cut free from a chain link fence. The fox is staying at the Crestwood Animal Shelter while he is treated for mange.
