Wired Coffee Packs September Evenings With Events

The coffee shop and gelato cafe on Lindbergh Boulevard has a September packed with art and literary events. They're also trying their hand at hosting a speed dating night.

Wired Coffee Packs September Evenings With Events

A Sunset Hills coffee shop offers a gathering space for those who want to skip the bar scene for an evening or two.

employee Savage Laxton said the shop's evening hours under its previous owner were inconsistent at best. Customers got used to the idea of driving by to see if it was open, and more often than not, probably resorted to their back-up choice.

Current owner Sue Hamer took over the space late last year and has since been working with her staff to encourage evening visits from customers. They boast board games, a cozy fireplace, space for small and large meet-ups alike, and a selection of wine and microbrews. But expect Wired to begin offering a bevy of public events for patrons of all interests, from gaming nights to open mics to Pampered Chef parties.

Stop by Saturday evening for an  by local artist Pat McNiel, whose work you may already notice from the walls at Wired.

The coffee shop is also trying its hand at singles events. Laxton is organizing their very first speed dating night, tentatively scheduled for Sept. 15. (Patch will have an update on the event when more information is available.)

According to Laxton, they're open to ideas and meet-ups of all kinds.

Some other upcoming events:

(Sept. 8): Shel Stidmon hosts a Pampered Chef party at the coffee shop.

(Sept. 21): Photographer Valerie Rippey will be present to showcase some of her work.

(Sept. 22): Susann Batson, Susan Bennett, Lynda S. Burch, Eileen Dreyer, Sandie Grassino, and Jeannie Lin will be available to sign copies of their books. ( will be featured at Wired in November.)
