The crash happened within the city limits of Town and Country, but the investigation was handled by St. Louis County police. That stretch of road includes portions of unincorporated St. Louis County and Town and Country.

"They were on scene for quite a bit of time before they realized the officer was in Town and Country," Hoelzer explained, so it made sense for St. Louis County police to continue the investigation.

crews also responded to the crash.

Hoelzer said it appears Fabian was driving north in the 2000 block of South Mason Road when the accident happened.

She was taken to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Fabian was alone in the car at the time of the crash and investigators are trying to determine if a medical condition may have caused her to cross the center line and crash, according to police.
