Excuse the puns in the subject and headline, but during the dog days of summer construction sometimes the heat can just get to a person.

It should be noted that all our puns are in the context of construction. So as you might have gathered, granite will be a major part of work next week, especially in the sidewalk and median areas where crews will be laying granite curb beginning at Centre St. and working south.

Additional sidewalk work throughout the week will occur between Capitol St. and Capital Plaza and will involve fine grading, as well as prepping sidewalk ramps and the eventual brick zone for construction. Planters and granite seating foundations will be constructed over the course of the week as well.

Across the street, the area in front of Northway Bank will remain under construction during the week. Customers should know however, that accessibility to the bank will be maintained at all times. If you find yourself confused or unsure, be sure to ask a crew member!

...Don’t ask them about the puns though. They won’t have any idea what you’re talking about.

P.S. Recently we’ve run into a few unfortunate instances of vandalism of the construction equipment on Main Street. We are hoping that we can count on the merchants, visitors, and other downtown community members to help deter this childish behavior. If you see or know of any acts such as this, we ask you to call Concord Police. Thank you.
