Driver Dies in Vehicle Fire on I-89
NHSP: Crash and blaze this afternoon closes down Interstate for a number of hours.

CONCORD, NH - The New Hampshire State Police are reporting that a driver has lost their life after a fiery crash on the southbound side I-89, according to an alert.
At around 4:15 p.m. on March 1, 2016, troopers from Troop D and Troop F along with fire and rescue teams from Enfield and Lebanon for a report of a vehicle fire.
Witnesses at the scene along with troopers attempted to reach the driver but the vehicle was full engulfed and attempts were unsuccessful, according to Sgt. Ron Taylor of the NHSP.

“(The) investigation revealed that the lone operator had perished as a result of the crash,” according to Taylor. “Interstate 89 was shut down for approximately 45 minutes as crews extinguished the fire. Interstate 89 was opened for one lane of travel. No further information is being released pending notification of family members.”
At around 7:30 p.m., both lanes of I-89 were reopened to traffic. Police from Lebanon and Enfield assisted at the scene, according to Taylor.
