Another Republican Enters District 23 State Senate Race

State Rep. William Gannon, R-Sandown, made the announcement yesterday; has been endorsed by the current state Senator.

SANDOWN, NH - William Gannon, a state representative from Rockingham’s fourth district, announced his candidacy for the Republican nomination for State Senate in District 23 on April 14, 2016, and registered as a candidate with the Secretary of State’s Office, according to a press statement.

“I look forward to sharing my conservative message to people throughout the district” said Gannon. “I’m running for State Senate to ensure we continue to make progress on the issues that matter most to New Hampshire families.”

Gannon has received the endorsements of the current elected official holding the seat, state Sen. Russell Prescott and Rockingham County Commissioner Tom Tombarello.

“I’m proud to have the support of Senator Prescott and Commissioner Tombarello," Gannon said. "Their endorsements are incredibly meaningful and clearly illustrate our campaign’s expanding support throughout the district.”

Gannon is a graduate of Saint Anselm College, where he studied political science before successfully pursuing a law degree. For the past 20-plus years, he has been running a small construction business, is a practicing attorney and is currently serving in the House.

William and his wife Janice have four children who attend local public schools. He is a past Lions Club officer and has been a volunteer youth soccer coach for many years.
