Exeter Student to Play Country Awards Tonight

Exeter High School student  Aubrey Harris will perform on tonight's nationally televised American Country Awards.

The show will be televised on FOX from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. It's being held in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Harris will be performing with Keith Urban, who is scheduled to sing "Crossroads." Harris and six other young musicians who take part in a program run by the GRAMMY Foundation will be on stage with Urban. The performance is meant to "highlight the need to support music-based initiatives that attract young people to music and encourage their musical pursuits," according to news release.

Harris, a bassist, is a sophomore at Exeter High. She was selected to the New Hampshire Jazz All-State group as a freshman and is currently working on an art apprenticeship through a grant from the  New Hampshire State Council on the Arts. She wants to attend the Berklee College of Music.
