Hassan Discusses Infrastructure with Chao

NH Senator stated that she had a constructive meeting with President-elect Trump's Department of Transportation nominee.

WASHINGTON, DC — Today, U.S. Sen. Maggie Hassan met with former Department of Labor Secretary Elaine Chao, who is President-elect Donald Trump's nominee to lead the Department of Transportation, according to a press statement. The Senator stated that she had "a constructive meeting" with the former secretary about infrastructure, including how to strengthen New Hampshire and country's highways, roads and bridges to ensure that our transportation infrastructure meets the needs of a 21st century economy.

"We also discussed critical transportation projects for New Hampshire, including completing the expansion of I-93, and how the federal government can better support the state's efforts to improve and expand state infrastructure," she said. "I look forward to hearing more from Secretary Chao on her plans to improve our state and our country's infrastructure during the hearing process."

As a member of the Commerce, Science & Transportation Committee, Hassan will participate in hearings on Secretary Chao's nomination.
