Huge Epping Movie Theater Opening This Week

It will open in time for the release of the new James Bond film.

Huge Epping Movie Theater Opening This Week

A huge new movie theater in Epping will open Friday – the day the new James Bond film "Skyfall" comes out.

The new O'Neil Cinemas theater is located in the Brickyard Square development at the intersection of Routes 125 and 101.

The theater's features will include:

  • Twelve screens
  • Five 3D screens
  • "D-Box" motion seats – demonstrated in the YouTube video at right
  • Stadium seats
  • Wall-to-wall curved screens
  • "High back" rocking seats with retractable armrests
  • Digital projection
  • Surround sound
  • Online ticketing
  • Reserved seating
  • Self-serve ticketing kiosks
  • Self-serve fountain drinks

The construction work on the new movie theater is being done by Portsmouth-based DeStefano & Associates, among other companies.

The company's plan for its Epping location was approved by the town's Planning Board earlier this year. It will satisfy residents who for years have called for a movie theater in town. There was even a "Bring a Movie Theater to Epping New Hampshire" Facebook page.

Brickyard Square also houses a Market Basket, a Marshalls and a PetSmart. The developers announced on their Facebook page last month that a new Kume Sushi Hibachi is scheduled to open.
