Snow Causes Bad Crashes on Route 101

Bad road conditions Saturday contributed to several crashes on Route 101 in the Exeter area.

At about 1 p.m. several vehicles crashed on that highway near the Exeter River Bridge in Stratham, according to reports. One person reportedly suffered a head injury.

At roughly the same time a vehicle rolled over after striking a guardrail and landed on its roof, according to reports. At least one person was injured and possibly trapped inside.

Another rollover crash was reported at about 12:30 p.m. on Route 101 east in Raymond.

About an inch of snow fell on the area by the time of the crashes. The forecasts called for light snow throughout the day, followed by rain at about 11 a.m. Temperatures will remain in the low 30s, creating more hazardous road conditions from possible freezing.

Road conditions will improve Sunday, when warmer air rolls in, pushing temperatures to about 50 degrees.
