Bruins Alumni, Comics Skating in Charity Game for Local Woman

Former players and comedians will help a popular Hampton waitress in her fight against breast cancer Saturday.

Hampton residents and former Boston Bruins players Rick Middleton and Kenny Linseman are among a group of ex-pros and Boston-area comedians hitting the ice this weekend to raise money for a Kitchen at Depot Square waitress battling an aggressive breast cancer, according to the Hampton Union.

The Bruins alumni will take on a team of comedians and former players at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 1, at the Rinks at Exeter to raise money for breast cancer treatments for waitress Terri Sliby, who will be part of the ceremonial opening faceoff and reportedly hopes to resume working on Dec. 7, according to the paper. Middleton, a regular customer at the downtown Hampton restaurant and frequent participant in local fundraisers, credited local comedian Josh Dolan with the planning work while reflecting on his connection with Sliby to the Hampton Union.

"She's always got a smile on," Middleton, who played for the Bruins from 1976 to 1988 and a Hampton resident since 1997, told the Union. "She's always a very positive person. She always has a big hello for you... I've had several friends who have battled [cancer] and won, and I know that with her attitude she'll beat it."
