Dental Practice Pays $13K Fine for Records Violation

NH AG's Medicaid Fraud Control Unit reaches settlement with Dr. Eyad Almahayni, formerly of Hampton.

Attorney General Joseph A. Foster announced on June 25, 2015, that the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit (MFCU) of the Department of Justice had reached a settlement with Dr. Eyad Almahayni, DMD, to resolve allegations about his dental practice, according to a press statement.

It is alleged that Almahayni’s business submitted claims to Medicaid for dental services, between February 2008 and July 2012, without maintaining the required documentation, without documenting the participation of a dentist in a procedure requiring a dentist, and for work done on Medicaid recipients by non-Medicaid providers, according to officials.

Under the terms of the agreement, Almahayni agreed to pay a total sum of $13,150.25 in restitution and investigative costs. Almahayni fully cooperated with the investigation. During the relevant time period he was practicing in Hampton but now, he is no longer practicing in the state.
