Dan Dwyer Announces Run For State Senate

Merrimack resident and Town Councilor Dan Dwyer has announced his candidacy for Senate District 10, the newly-formed district that will separate Merrimack from Bedford where the two towns have shared a senator for decades. District 10 will group Merrimack with Amherst, Milford and Wilton.

Dwyer, who is in his second year of a three-year term on Merrimack's Town Council, is the co-owner of Silver Chariot Transportation and a former state representative out of Manchester, from 1984-86. Dwyer is a member of the Merrimack Republicans and the Fire Station Building Committee and represents the Town Council on various committees. Dwyer also serves as a Guardian Ad Litem in New Hampshire. Dwyer is a 17-year resident of Merrimack and a graduate of Manchester Memorial High School and Saint Anselm College.

Below is a letter announcing Dwyer's decsion to run for the Senate seat.

My name is Dan Dwyer and I am running for NH State Senate. In the newly formed Senate District 10 Merrimack has been separated from Bedford. The new district is now Merrimack, Amherst, Milford and Wilton. Being from Merrimack I want everyone to know that I will work on policy issues that are good for everyone, not only in this new district but also for everyone in Southern New Hampshire.

I take “The Pledge” very seriously. I will not support any income or sales tax.

I will fight to maintain New Hampshire’s unique place in New England when it comes to tax policy.

I will fight to maintain a balanced budget, to ensure freedom form government intrusion into our lives and maintain liberty and freedom from government bureaucracy and regulation that are ruining our livelihoods.

I was born and raised in this state and believe it is one of the best places to live in the world. I wish to make sure it stays that way. I hope you will support me in my goal to keep New Hampshire a special place.
