Crash Landing At Nashua Airport

Nashua officials said the pilot of a Cessna successfully crash-landed at the Nashua Airport Tuesday.

NASHUA, NH — A pilot successfully crash-landed at the Nashua Airport Tuesday, officials said. The plane, a Cessna 180 with four seats, had a landing gear failure and as the pilot touched down the left wheel buckled and the plane skidded off the runway into a grassy field. The pilot was not hurt, according to Nashua Deputy fire Chief George Walker.

The pilot was the only person aboard the plane. The crash happened at about 9 a.m. The airport was closed for several hours and reopened Tuesday afternoon.

Walker said a small fuel leak was quickly contained by firefighters and power to the aircraft was shut off.

The Federal Aviation Administration launched an investigation into the crash.
