NASHUA, NH — A gun was found in a student's backpack at Nashua High School South Thursday morning, according to police. At about 9:45 a.m., a 17-year-old male student fell ill and appeared to be having a seizure, according to Nashua police Lt. Kerry Baxter.
"In an effort to determine if the student ingested something that could have contributed to his medical issues, his backpack was searched by school administration," Baxter said. "The backpack contained a loaded handgun and that firearm was subsequently seized by police."
The student was hospitalized and expected to recover. No charges were announced against him as of Thursday night but police said an investigation is ongoing.
