Campus community will come together on Thursday at 12:30 p.m. to remember murdered UNH student.

UNH to Mourn Lizzi Marriott

Members of the University of New Hampshire community will come together on Thursday to remember UNH student Lizzi Marriott as authorities continue to search for her body in Portsmouth.

According to Erika Mantz of the UNH Media Relations office in Durham, students, faculty and other members of the campus will meet in front of Thompson Hall at 12:30 p.m. to reflect on Marriott's life.

In a press release, Mantz noted the vigil will push back the pre-scheduled campus master plan forum to 1:15 p.m. to accommodate it. Marriott, 19, a Marine Biology student, was first reported missing sometime after she attended a class at UNH on the night of Oct. 9.

According to authorities, inside of his Dover apartment on Oct. 9. Neither the New Hampshire Attorney General's office or Dover Police will provide any details on what Mazzaglia may have done with Marriott's body or why the search continues around Peirce Island in Portsmouth.

Mazzaglia was ordered held without bail at the Strafford County Jail in Dover during his arraignment for second degree murder in Dover District Court on Monday. According to Young, the victim and Mazzaglia knew one another, but were not involved in any kind of relationship.

Mazzaglia, who is an actor and practices Karate according to his web site, is due back in Dover District Court for a probably cause hearing on Oct. 29 at 10 a.m.
