Pickup Truck Catches Fire In Barnegat; No Injuries: Officials

The fire took place around Barnegat Boulevard and Ravenwood Boulevard, according to officials.

BARNEGAT, NJ — Officials extinguished a fire on a pickup truck at about noon Monday in Barnegat. No one was injured, according to Barnegat Volunteer Fire Company Station 11.

Station 11 was dispatched to the fire around Barnegat Boulevard and Ravenwood Boulevard. Officials saw heavy smoke coming from the vehicle.

Barnegat police attempted to control the fire with an extinguisher. Once Assistant Chief 1110 applied protective gear, he opened the car hood to expose the flames.

The fire already got hold of the engine compartment. But Assistant Chief 1110 and police held the fire at bay until Tanker 1101 arrived to extinguish it. There was no further damage to the surrounding area because of the quick response.
