Richard J. Donahue, Vietnam Veteran, Barnegat Resident, Dies At 67

Richard J. Donahue, 67, of Barnegat, passed away Sunday, May 4, 2014, at home surrounded by his loving family.
A U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, he was raised in Harrison by his late parents, Joseph and Ann Donahue. He was retired from the New JerseyTurnpike Authority.
He was predeceased by a son, Richard and two brothers, Joseph and Dennis. He is survived by his beloved wife of 37 years, Lisa C. (Shivers); three children, Heather Donahue, Courtney and husband William Leonard, and Kaitlyn Donahue; two brothers and their spouses, Ron and Vilette, Gregory and Nancy Donahue; grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Gathering from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. will be held on May 8, with 8 p.m. services to follow at the Barnegat Funeral Home, 841 W. Bay Ave., Barnegat.
Interment of cremains 12:30 p.m. Friday, May 9 at Bg. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Vet. Memorial Cemetery in Arneytown. In lieu of flowers, donations to Hope For HH ( www.hopeforhh.org) would be appreciated.
