Sometimes there's just not enough days in the week, but each week we'll give you an idea of something to do to relax, spend time with your family or friends, or just take time for yourself.
This weekend is all about dancing on a string because we're celebrating National Day of Puppetry at the 4-H!
The Garden State Puppetry Guild will be hosting "The Magic of Puppetry," an all-day festival Saturday at the on Milltown Road in Bridgewater. Starting at 9 a.m., the guild will be hosting workshops and performances to show families, and especially the children, the magic of puppets.
First, workshops in the morning will provide children and families with the opportunity to create and manipulate their own handkerchief and rod puppets. There will also be a movement and voice workshop for the puppets.
Throughout the afternoon, the guild will host free shows, with Penny Rapicano's Fun on a String marionettes, Lois Corwin's Double Ducky Theater, An Introduction to Ventriloquism with Michael Terletsky, a shadow puppet show and much more.
Registration for the workshops will begin at 9 a.m., and costs $15 per child for all.
The performances begin at 1 p.m. and are all free.
