Berkeley Township police officer recently arrested a South Toms River man after he determined the person was driving under the influence, Police Chief Karin T. DiMichele said.
Patrolman Michael Tier conducted a motor vehicle stop on Davenport Road at 10:40 p.m. on March 23. Urbano-Cortes Cleofas, 51, South Toms River, was charged with drunk driving, the chief said.
Cleofas was arrested and transported to Berkeley Township police headquarters, where he was processed. He was also charged with speeding, careless driving and reckless driving, DiMichele said.
His vehicle was impounded as per John's Law. John’s Law. Patrolmen Patrick Stesner and Taylor Butler assisted, the chief said.
