Most children and parents heeded the Mayor's warning, it seems, because Halloween night was, well, a ghost town in Bloomfield.
Patch photographer Veronica Yankowski was there to capture the action in case it happened -- but it never really did.
"It was really quiet out there," marveled Yankowski, a lifelong Bloomfield resident who knows how crowded the streets usually get Halloween night. "I think most of them listened [to the warnings] and stayed home."
Interestingly, she said that the streets were bustling on the otehr side of the Glen Ridge-Bloomfield border. "I think the kids all went to Glen Ridge," she said. "I heard some of them say they were going to Montclair, too."
So much for staying home on Halloween night!
