Brick Cops Arrest Two In Target Parking Lot Drug Deal
Two Brick residents facing charges
The unit was conducting a surveillance operation in the parking lot at about 3:30 p.m. March 14 when they saw the alleged drug deal take place between two men, said Sgt. Henry Drew.
Officers approached the men and identified themselves as police officers, at which point one of the men fled on foot, Drew said.
That man, identified as Mark A. Bartolotti, 26, of Duquesne Boulevard, was apprehended after a short foot chase by Detective Brian Lash.
Police found him to be in possession of 28 Roxicet pills, Drew said. Bartolotti was transported to Brick Police headquarters for processing.
The other man, identified as Leonard C. Genna, 52, or Dorothy Place, was placed into custody and transported to Brick Police Headquarters for processing.
Bartolotti is facing charges of possession of a controlled dangerous substance, resisting arrest, and obstructing justice. Bail was set at $10,000 cash by Municipal Court Judge Robert Lepore.
Genna was charged with Possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute, and distribution of a controlled dangerous substance. Bail was set by the Lepore at $25,000 cash.
Both men were transported to the Ocean County Jail.
Additionally, $400 and a 2010 Subaru Legacy were seized as being used in the narcotics transaction, Drew said.
Detective Sergeant Joseph Forrester, Detective Brian Lash, and Detective Jason Shepherd all participated in the arrests.
