Brick Police Searching for Man Who Robbed, Stabbed Woman

Brick police are continuing their search for a man who they say pulled a woman out of her car, held a knife to her throat and stabbed her while demanding the contents of her pocket book.

The incident occurred Monday night at about 10 p.m. at 150 Brick Boulevard, said Sgt. Henry Drew.

There, police found a woman in her car parked in the building's parking lot.

"The victim had puncture wounds on her right side, several lacerations on her hand and a contusion on her head," said Drew.

The woman told police that a man, who appeared intoxicated, pulled her out of her vehicle and put a knife to her throat. He then her stabbed her in the side and cut her.

He also demanded the contents of her pocket book, which contained "an undetermined amount of cash, medication and jewelry," said Drew.

Officers from the Brick, Toms River and Lakewood police departments, assisted by the New Jerset State Police aviation unit and K-9 units, searched the area until 3 a.m. but did not find the suspect, who fled toward the area of Lions Head Office Park on foot, said Drew.

The victim was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune, where she remained Tuesday in stable condition, police said.

The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 6 feet tall with a full beard. He was wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.

Anyone with information on the case is being asked to call Detective Robert Shepherd at 732-262-1112 or Detective Thomas Cooney at 732-262-4708.
