A 57-year-old Manchester woman was injured when she was struck by a Mercedes while walking her dog, police said.
On Sunday, at approximately 7 p.m, Manchester Police received a call about a pedestrian struck on Falmouth Avenue near the intersection of Central Drive.
Ptl. Christian Nazario and Ptl. Brian Volk arrived and found 57-year-old, Cynthia Lovanyak, of Whiting, lying in the roadway with possible broken ribs and a head injury sustained in the collision, police said.
The investigation revealed that Lovanyak was walking her dog on Falmouth Avenue when she was struck by 2004 Mercedes Benz 240, operated by Raymond Mombelardi, an 87-year-old male from Brick Township, police said.
The Mercedes was traveling east on Falmouth Avenue when the collision occurred. The dog was not injured, police said.
Lovanyak was transported to Jersey Shore Medical Center by Quality Medical Transport with Mon-OC Paramedics. Plans to air lift the patient to the trauma center were cancelled due to bad weather.
This crash is being investigated by Ptl. Ian Bole of the Traffic Safety Unit. At the time of this press release Lovanyak was still listed in stable condition at Jersey Shore Medical Center.
