Car Burglaries On The Rise: Bridgewater Police Warn Residents To Lock Vehicles

"The MOST important thing YOU can do is CALL THE POLICE to report a CRIME or any SUSPICIOUS activity."

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — Due to an increase in burglaries to unlocked cars in Somerset County, Bridgewater Police are reminding residents to local their cars and remove valuables.

Hillsborough Police reported around 40 car burglaries since Sunday in the township.

"Majority of vehicle burglaries can be prevented, and we ask that all of our residents and those who visit our community, lock their doors, close their windows all the way up, do not leave valuables or keys inside and keep garage door openers out of plain view," Bridgewater Police announced.
