Car Carrier Erupts Into Flames On Route 28 In Bridgewater: Video
Volunteer firefighters began their day by responding to an early fire near Interstate 287. See the video:
BRIDGEWATER, NJ — Volunteer firefighters sprung out of bed to start their day by extinguishing a large fire on Route 28(Union Avenue) on Friday. (See video of the fire below)
On May 3 at 5:15 a.m., the Finderne Fire Department was called to a fire on Union Avenue just before the Interstate 287 ramp.
Chief Keith Binkley said crews arrived to a well-involved car carrier on fire. Crews extinguished the tractor along with three additional vehicles on the trailer.

No injuries were reported.
Manville EMS and Somerset County Haz-Mat Team also came to help.

The Finderne Fire Department, which covers the southeast section of Bridgewater Township, is always looking for volunteers.
Volunteers are offered complete protective gear, free training, LOSAP (Length of Service Award Programs), a pay-per-call incentive, a life insurance/disability plan, and an in-house gym.
