Car Engulfed In Fire On NJ Turnpike Friday Morning

A car broke out into flames on the southbound side of the New Jersey Turnpike on Friday morning.

WOODBRIDGE, NJ — A car broke out into flames on the southbound side of the New Jersey Turnpike on Friday morning.

The fire was reported around 9:45 a.m. near exit 12 on the Turnpike in Woddbridge.

"The fire has just been cleared and there are no injuries," Nj State Police Sgt. Greg Williams.

The left and center lanes had been closed for a short period of time around 9:45 a.m. while police tried to get the fire undercontrol.

The fire is believed to have started from a vehicle malfunction, Williams said.

The identity of the driver and any other information was not available at this time.
