21 Left Homeless Following Bridgewater Fire Monday Morning

Breaking: 1 adult man suffered minor burns to his extremities and was treated at the scene.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — A total of 21 people from eight housing units have been displaced following a fire that broke out at the Mount Pleasant Villas apartment complex in Bridgewater Monday morning.

Officers from the Bridgewater Police Department, along with fire companies and emergency services units from Bridgewater, Somerville, Manville and Bound Brook responded to the 2100 building of Sunny Slope Road around 9 a.m. on a report of a fire, Bridgewater Police Lt. Michael Maxwell reported.

The fire has been extinguished. There was one adult man who suffered minor burns to his extremities, and he was treated at the scene and released, Maxwell said.

The Red Cross is assisting with housing the displaced families.

The origin of the fire is unknown at this time, and it being investigated by the Bridgewater Bureau of Fire Safety, Maxwell said.
