Girls Night Out Arrives in Downtown Somerville

Great shopping, dining and activities, plus giveaways, prizes, discounts and more.

Grab your girlfriends and head to Downtown Somerville on Thursday night, May 12th, from 5:00 - 9:00 p.m. when the Downtown Somerville Alliance (DSA) invites ladies to enjoy a special night dedicated to shopping, strolling and surprises with more than 40 downtown businesses ready to welcome you with special activities, complimentary food and drink and more at the first annual Girls Night Out (GNO).

This one-night event offers shopping, dining and drink specials, swag bags, and prizes, all in the heart of Downtown Somerville. The goal is to have women unwind after a long day, laugh with their girlfriends and shop in a welcoming, social environment that highlights all that Somerville has to offer.

The first stop of the evening is at the Downtown Somerville Alliance event registration tent on Division Street where attendees will show their pre-purchased GNO ticket and pick up a swag bag filled with a glamorous Girls Night Out t-shirt, discount coupons from downtown businesses and other special surprises and treats along with a map of all participating merchants and offers for the evening. Strut down the red carpet and get your photo taken at the Zen Image Studio Girls Night Out Photo booth while enjoying the DJ and grab a quick bite from Blue Salt Culinary – all included with your GNO ticket. Then sip, stroll, dine and shop your way throughout downtown Somerville.

“Quality time with friends is always in style no matter what the season so this is a perfect event to gather the girls for a night to remember,” said Beth Anne Macdonald, the DSA’s Executive Director. “Downtown Somerville is pulling out all the stops to give women a fun, relaxing evening along with some great shopping.”

Special GNO offers include trunk shows, sales with discounts up to 80% off retail, food and drink specials from some of downtown Somerville’s top eateries, a floral arranging session with a take home gift, paint your own wine glasses, free glamour limo ride that will take you from the event registration tent at Division and Main Street directly to Casa Luna and Revive on South Doughty and giveaways throughout the evening.

The more you shop, the more entries you will receive to win one of over two dozen prizes donated by the downtown businesses. GNO participants can bring their receipts back to the Registration Tent on Division Street and complete their entries for prizes like a $250 gift certificate from Blue Sheep Bake Shop, a $50 gift certificate from Casa Luna Mexican Grill, a free Reiki session from freedOM Yoga valued at $100, a free month of unlimited Studio Barre classes and a chef dinner for four at Verve valued at $500.

Girls Night Out tickets can be purchased at several downtown Somerville businesses (cash only) including Beneath It All, Beyond Trends, Gems & Stems, K Bella, Melange Boutique, Revive Consignment, The Beauty Bar, The Hungry Hound and Three Hearts Home.
