Nor'Easter Could Hamper Power Restoration, Police Chief Says

Thousands are still without power in Bridgewater.

Nor'Easter Could Hamper Power Restoration, Police Chief Says

As power outages enter day 10, and Bridgewater braces for yet another storm Wednesday, more than 4,000 are still without power as of 7 a.m.

According to reports from the PSE&G work plan, there are currently 3,419 without power throughout the town.

About 316 are expected to get power back Wednesday, 416 on Thursday, 516 on Friday and 1,411 on Saturday.

After the weekend, according to the plan, about 760 PSE&G customers are still expected to be without power in Bridgewater.

According to JCP&L's figures, as of Wednesday morning, there were 888 customers without power in Bridgewater.

But Wednesday's predicted nor'easter could alter those expectations.

As Bridgewater Township Police Chief Richard Borden said, the projected storm could bring additional power outages.

"Residents without power do not need any additional delays," he said. "Utility crews are continuing restoration work unless the storm curtails that activity."

Residents have said in the Hillside section of town and in Martinsville that they are still without power after 10 days in the dark.

"PSE&G says possibly Friday, but I'm hearing something about letters coming from other town mayors saying 10 to 15 days," said resident Danielle Compofelice Garcia in a post on the Bridgewater Patch Facebook page. "Just want to plan accordingly at this point."
