Firefighter Injured In School Bus Fire: I-287 Reopened In Bridgewater
No passengers were on board at the time of the fire.
BRIDGEWATER, NJ — A firefighter was injured while battling a school bus fire on Interstate 287 in Bridgewater Friday morning. No passengers were on board at the time of the fire.
The firefighter was taken to St. Barnabas Burn Center in Livingston for evaluation and treatment, said Bridgewater Fire Commissioner Jeffrey Holtz.
Additionally, multiple lanes on the highway were closed during the morning hours. It has since reopened.

The fire was reported on the southbound side of I-287 just north of Route 206 in Bridgewater Township, according to the New Jersey Department of Transportation's 511NJ website.
As a result, two right lanes of 3 lanes were closed around 9:43 a.m.
