Video: Car Bursts Into Flames On Bridgewater Roadway
Occupants of the SUV were able to escape as it burst into flames in the middle of the busy roadway.
BRIDGEWATER, NJ — An occupied SUV burst into flames in the middle of a busy Bridgewater roadway on Wednesday afternoon.
The Finderne Fire Department was called out at 12:06 p.m. on Jan. 30 to Finderne Avenue near the intersection of Route 28 for a vehicle fire in the middle of the road, Finderne Deputy Fire Chief Tom Marshall said.
Occupants of the SUV were able to escape and were outside of the vehicle before firefighters arrived on scene, Marshall said.

The fire was able to be extinguished in about 10 minutes. There were no reported injuries. The cause of the fire is unknown, Marshall said.
Responding to the fire were Finderne Fire Department's Car 30, Engine 301 and Engine 303 and Robert Wood Johnson EMS. The Bridgewater Police Department also helped with shutting the road down in a very high traffic area.
