A winter weather advisory has been issued for the area with 3 to 5 inches of snow possible.

Snowstorm Closes Schools in the Caldwells Monday
Caldwell-West Caldwell and West Essex schools are closed Monday as cold air returns and several inches of snow are expected throughout the day.

A winter weather advisory was issued for the entire area from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday with 3 to 5 inches of snow expected and temperatures dropping into the teens by the time the storm ends, according to the National Weather Service.

The precipitation was expected to begin as a rain and snow mix before changing over to all snow by mid-morning, the NWS said.

Temperatures are expected to remain in the 30s the rest of the week with rain possible on Wednesday.
