West Caldwell Car Fire Extinguished Just Steps Away From House

West Caldwell emergency responders battled an active car fire that took place near a local home.

WEST CALDWELL, NJ — West Caldwell emergency responders put out an active car fire just steps away from a local home last weekend, authorities said.

According to the West Caldwell Fire Department (WCFD), the blaze took place on Sunday afternoon.

The WCFD wrote:

“Upon arrival the [West Caldwell Police Department] found an active car fire in close proximity to the house. Using fire extinguishers, the fire chief and police sergeant were able to keep the fire contained to the car. Engine 712 with 4 members extinguished the fire, Truck 711 with 5 members confirmed no extension to the house. In addition, all 4 Chief officers on scene, 2 Incident Safety officers on scene, and 7 members stood by at headquarters.”
