The Chatham Turkey Trot A Holiday Success

The Chatham Turkey Trot Raises Over $19,000 for Chatham Twp. Fire Dept. & Diabetes Research Institute.

The sixth annual Chatham Turkey Trot race and one mile family fun run raised more than $19,000, making it the most successful race ever. Since the race was initiated in 2009, the Chatham Turkey Trot has raised more than $60,000 for the Chatham Township Volunteer Fire Department and the Diabetes Research Institute.

“The Chatham Turkey Trot has truly become a family holiday tradition representing all that is great about our community,” said Curt Ritter, President of The Chatham Turkey Trot. “Despite the snow, this year we had more than 750 runners and raised over $19,000 for the Chatham Township Volunteer Fire Department and the Diabetes Research Institute making it our most successful race ever. I want to thank our sponsors, runners, the DPW, the Fire Department, Chatham Stem and the Chatham EMS for their support. We are already looking forward to another great race next year.”

Stephen Leonard ran 17:01 to win the sixth annual Chatham Turkey Trot 5K race and Amy Cole was the first female to cross in 19:10 as more than 750 runners participated in the Thanksgiving Day event.
