Resident Writes Support for Council Incumbents

As Election Day nears, letters to the editor come in.

Resident Writes Support for Council Incumbents

As you have been moving around our beautiful little borough either taking a stroll, on a bicycle or in your car, you probably have noticed quite a few lawn signs that read “Working for a better Chatham, Re-elect Len Resto and John Holman”; you might have asked yourself, who are these guys, and how are they working for a better Chatham? Both of these candidates have their own individual strong suits, and together they add strength of the Council.

John Holman has been a champion of finding ways to contain costs while maintaining services that provide a high quality of life. Working together with neighboring elected officials, he has helped to makes more shared services a reality.

John has found significant savings by facilitating Chatham Borough’s participation in the Joint Municipal Court of the Borough of Madison, which has saved has the four municipalities involved hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Len Resto has been a strong advocate for preserving the Borough’s beauty, environmental integrity and fiscal health. Len has been a leader on the Green Initiatives and the Environmental Committees; he has helped the Borough’s adopt “single stream” recycling, which contributes to a greener and most cost effective way to handle waste.

As important as their individual accomplishments are the fact that both Councilman work cooperatively with the Mayor and the rest of the Council is a positive aspect not be overlooked. They both insure that all the thoughtful questions are asked and every resident’s viewpoint is heard.

I am proud to be voting for these gentlemen on Nov. 6, and would encourage you to do the same.

Donald Dinsmore, Esq.
