On Thursday, Sept: 27:

The girls soccer team stormed back from a first half deficit to win 1-0 against New Providence. After great interplay from Lina Proska and Kelsey Burke, Burke struck into the top corner of the net from 30 yards to tie the game midway through the second half. Proska fired the game winner from good build up play from McCall Moore and Kelsey Burke as Proska run and shot from 25 yards sailed high past the keeper into the net with 14 minutes remaining. Morgan Maltby was excellent in goal for Chatham, and Katie Higgins put in a very strong performance in center midfield.

The girls volleyball team defeated Parsippany Hills 2-0. Chatham swept both sets winning the first 25-13 and the second 25-23. Carolyn Johnson with 12 digs and Candace DeVito with 4 kills led the Lady Cougars to their third win of the season.

The boys cross country team defeate Parsippany Hills 17-46 and fell to Mendham 19-40. Dominic Vernazza ran 16:56 and finished third overall. Brian Leonard finished in 17:25, Andrew Vena in 17:42, Parth Shah in 17:57 and Tom Whiteside in 18:09. The team's average time dropped six more seconds to 17:38.

The girls cross country team defeated Parsippany Hills 22-36 and fell to Mendham 17-44. Top scorers are:

The girls tennis team defeated Madison 5-0. The Cougars swept the Dodgers to move to 11-2 on the season. Victorious at their respective positions were:

  • 1st Singles: Emily Sroczynski
  • 2nd Singles: Kendall Contri
  • 3rd Singles: Alison Ramsland
  • 1st Doubles: Ashley Perselay and Julia Edgar
  • 2nd Doubles: Jess Sullivan and Katie Howard-Johnson

The JV girls soccer team defeated New Providence 1-0.

The JV volleyball team fell to Parsippany Hills 2-0.

On Friday, Sept. 28:

The girls volleyball team, seeded 14th, relied on solid serving and defense to win 25-10 and 25-20. Candace DeVito; Rachel Prill and sophomore setter Carolyn Johnson had two aces apiece. Junior libero Natalie Schroder had 17 digs. Johnson had 16 assists and four digs. Prill finished with seven kills and four digs.

On Saturday, Sept. 29:

The girls field hockey team advanced to the quarterfinals of the Morris County Tournament with a 1-0 victory over Mountain Lakes. Meghan Murray scored on a corner with 19:40 left in the first half. Chatham defense held the rest of the way for the victory. The Cougars are now 6-2 on the season and will travel to play the top-seeded Dodgers of Madison in the next round of the MCT.

The boys football team fell to Delbarton 42-0.

On Sunday, Sept. 30: 

The boys soccer team defeated Dover 3-0 in the Morris County Tournament. David Gill scored three first half goals to lead the Cougars to a MCT victory over the Tigers from Dover. P.J. DiBenedetto and Rocky Iossa had one assist each for Chatham. Bobby Leverich, 5 saves, and Kevin Tomaino, 2 saves, combined for the shutout. Chatham is now 4-3-1.

The girls soccer team defeated Montville 3-0 in the Morris County Tournament. Kelsey Burke and Lina Proska sparked the Chatham offense against Montville in the opening round of the Morris County Tournament. Good play from Proska released Burke who, after good control, scored with a nice low finish to give Chatham an early lead. Proska was involved again as her through ball found Burkes well timed run, which ended with another great finish to put Chatham 2-0 up at half time. Emily Walczyk broke free on the left and her low cross found McCall Moore in the box who scored with a low drive to make it 3-0 to round off the scoring in the second half. Chatham had a number of chances to extend the lead, with Morgan Maltby again outstanding in goal.

The girls tennis team finished fifth in the MCT Tennis Tournament. The first doubles team of Julia Edgar and Jess Sullivan and the third singles player Alison Ramsland reached the semifinals.
