Sanctuary Concerts present "One Child Born," a theatrical tribute to the music of Laura Nyro, this Saturday at the Presbyterian Church of Chatham Township.

Concert head Scott Sheldon called Nyro "the folk world's most soulful and passionate songwriter." Her classic hits include "Stoned Soul Picnic," "Wedding Bell Blues," "Sweet Blindness," "And When I Die" and "Eli's Coming," all of which combined gospel, soul, jazz and rhythm-and-blues in a way utterly artistic and original.

In this presentation, actress and singer Kate Ferber will present "a magical evening of passion, whimsy and humor, performing Laura's songs and telling the stories of the people whose lives were changed by Laura's music," Sheldon said.

The Valentine's Day concert will also include the musical group Barnaby Bright, made up of married couple Rebecca and Nathan Bliss, who have been compared the The Indigo Girls and The Weepies.

The concert begins at 8 p.m. Saturday. Admission is $20 and includes a special Valentine's Day Chocolate Festival at intermission.

Chatham Patch and Sanctuary Concerts have teamed up to offer two free pairs of tickets to the first readers who can correctly answer the trivia question below:

Q: One tribute album to Laura Nyro, called “Time and Love,” featured many artists who have performed at The Sanctuary Concerts, including Rosanne Cash, Suzanne Vega, Jonatha Brooke, and Patty Larkin. However, the man pictured in the Photos section of this article also recorded a Laura Nyro tribute album, “The Laura Nyro Tribute Album," in which all the songs are performed as rap songs. Who is he?

Congratulations to our winners, who correctly guessed that the man pictured is Laura Nyro’s son Gil Bianchini, whose rap name is Gil-T.

Tickets are still available through the Sanctuary Concerts website.
