Tractor Trailer Fire Causing Delays On NJ Turnpike: Police

BREAKING: Part of the turnpike is closed and there were delays Wednesday afternoon, according to state police.

CHERRY HILL, NJ — A tractor trailer fire has closed down part of the New Jersey Turnpike and is slowing traffic in the area, according to New Jersey State Police. See video from the scene that was posted online below.

The fire was reported just before noon near mile marker 29.6 in Cherry Hill, police said Wednesday afternoon. No other vehicles were involved and no injuries were reported. The driver of the truck appears to have escaped before the tractor trailer became fully engulfed.

The fire is on the southbound side, and the right lane is closed. Traffic was backed up about two miles, according to police. Local fire officials are on the scene.
