Bridal, Special Event Fair to be Held at Smithville Sunday

Tour the grounds and meet potential caterers.

Bridal, Special Event Fair to be Held at Smithville Sunday

Attention brides and other party-throwers. Historic Smithville Park and the Burlington County Division of Parks at Smithville are throwing a Bridal and Special Event Fair from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday.

Smithville’s picturesque courtyard grounds in Eastampton, as well as the attractive grounds of the Burlington County Prison Museum in Mount Holly may be rented for weddings and catered affairs from April through October.

Both locations are available for outdoor events only. The courtyard grounds of the Historic Smithville Mansion feature stone and brick walls that encompass a formal parterre garden, grape arbor and lawn area. Included with the Smithville rental are use of Smithville’s 40x80-foot event tent, which can accommodate up to 160 people, lighting and electric, and accessible bathrooms.

Rental of the grounds within the walls of the historic landmark Prison Museum, which was designed by the renowned architect Robert Mills, includes use of accessible bathrooms. In addition, a tent may be rented from a private vendor and erected on the museum grounds for use on the reserved day. Both sites have sufficient parking for guests.

On Sunday, visitors will have an opportunity to tour Smithville’s courtyard grounds, meet the caterers ready to help plan their special day, and sample their fare. A variety of vendors that offer additional wedding and special event services will also be in attendance.

The caterers that have been pre-approved by the county to cater events at Smithville and the Prison Museum are: Colonial Village Catering Service, Inc., Pemberton; High Street Grill, Mount Holly; McFadden’s Catering, Laurel Springs; Robin’s Nest Restaurant and Catering, Mount Holly;and Sensational Host, Maple Shade.

The Burlington County Prison Museum and attached Warden’s House are located on High Street in Mount Holly. Historic Smithville Park is located on Smithville Road, three-quarters of a mile off Route 38 in Eastampton.
