The rationale?

Simple mathematics, really.

In 2011, Christian radio host Harold Camping predicted May 21 of that year would be Judgment Day. But that’s not necessarily when the world would end, the group explains. That’s when ”God shut the door of heaven,” eBible Fellowship says in an online brochure explaining its prediction.

Following Judgment Day, based on their calculations, it will take God 1,600 days to decide who gets into heaven, according to information from the Bible group.

So 1,600 days from May 21, 2011 brings us to: this Wednesday.

“When we go 1600 days from the beginning of Judgment Day on May 21, 2011 we come to a day (October 7, 2015) that is the last day of harvest in the biblical (Hebrew) calendar. Therefore we dare to say that on that day there is a strong likelihood that God will gather into heaven the precious fruit of all those He has saved and complete the destruction of all of those He did not save.

Oct. 7, or this Wednesday, is “an excellent day for God to raise up His people and to complete the judgment of the unsaved through the final destruction of annihilation,” the church explains.

eBible Fellowship, an online gathering of Christians, was founded by Chris McCann.

McCann believes the world will end with fire, he tells The Guardian.
