Clark Police and county authorities are investigating the death of a Rolling Hill Way resident.

According to unconfirmed reports, the body of an elderly woman was found in her home Saturday evening. Police could not be reached for comment as of the time of this report. The incident was reported just before 9 p.m. on July 7. Units from the Union County Sheriff's Department were on the scene along with local police to conduct an investigation.

John Holl, a spokesman for the Union County Prosecutor's Office said late Saturday evening that the UCPO is conducting an investigation into the incident, which will include an autopsy to determine the cause of death. The death has not yet been ruled a homicide and investigators are working to gather more details.

Outside the two-story home, crime scene tape stretched across the property and through the intersection of the street. A few local, uniformed police walked in and out of the garage of the home, while other officers with flashlights appeared to be searching the perimeter of the house and neighboring residences. A single light glowed from a room on the second floor of the victim's home and from behind the front door.

As additional investigators began to arrive, a small crowd of neighbors - including a few local teenagers - emerged from their homes on the quiet, tree-lined street and gathered on the corner to discuss the incident.

Neighbors described the victim as a "nice lady."

"She's nice. She always talks to people around here," one neighbor said.

Residents did not know the victim's age or if she lived alone in the house, but they believe she may be in her 60s. Authorities have not released the name of the woman who's body was found, or any other information about the victim or the incident.
